Overview
March Hysteria is an independent fan-run college basketball bracket challenge created for sports fans who enjoy following the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. Participation in the contest is voluntary and subject to the rules outlined on this page.
March Hysteria is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament.
eligibility
Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. By participating, entrants confirm they are legally permitted to participate in contests of this type within their jurisdiction.
Participants are responsible for complying with any applicable local laws or regulations related to contest participation.
how to enter
To participate in March Hysteria, entrants must complete both of the following steps:
- Submit a bracket before the tournament lock deadline.
- Submit the required entry fee using the approved payment method.
Entries must be completed prior to the official tournament bracket lock time. Late entries cannot be accepted.
MAil-In entry payment
March Hysteria currently accepts entry fees via mail-in payment.
Participants should complete the form on the Join page for mailing instructions.
Mail-in payments must include the following information:
- Participant name
- Email address used for bracket registration
- Contact information if different
Payments received without identifying information may not be credited to the correct entry.
payment deadline
Mail-in payments must be received by the posted mail-in deadline to ensure proper processing prior to tournament start.
The mail-in deadline may occur several days before the tournament begins to allow time for payment confirmation.
March Hysteria is not responsible for postal delays.
Prizes
The total prizes awarded to winners consists of all entry fees received for the contest, less 20% for a donation to a charity to be named later.
After 20% of the prize total is set aside for charity, prize distribution percentages for the tournament are as follows:
- 1st Place: 60%
- 2nd Place: 30%
- 3rd Place: 10%
determination of winners
Standings are determined using the scoring system implemented within the bracket platform.
Final standings are determined after completion of the tournament championship game.
All scoring decisions are final.
administrative rights
March Hysteria reserves the right to correct scoring errors, enforce contest rules, and modify contest administration if necessary to maintain fairness.
